2023 - 2024

Our students have indeed made us proud of the successes they have accomplished in every arena in various national and international forums. It has been an excellent year, and the students have been working very hard to ‘Reach Out, Reach High, and Reach Beyond’. There is a long list of key achievements in this year, and we highlight a few of them below:

Jigyasa, the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Quiz

Jigyasa, the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav quiz, a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Ministry of Culture, Indian Oil Corporation, and with support from Kalam Centre, stands as a remarkable tribute to India's 75 years of Independence. T.S. Pranav, a student of National Public School, from class 12A, partnered with a fellow student from P.S. Senior, securing victory in the southern regional round and earning their place in the prestigious National Finals. Boasting participation from over 10 lakh students, Jigyasa proudly holds the title of the largest school quiz, offering an unprecedented total cash reward of Rs. 55 lakhs. Played in 17 languages, the quiz reflects the unity within our diverse nation. T.S. Pranav's outstanding performance led to his recognition in the National Finals held in Delhi on August 12, 2023. There, he was honoured with a certificate, shield, and a substantial cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, bestowed by esteemed personalities including the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Minister of Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri. This achievement reflects not only T.S. Pranav's dedication but also our institution's commitment to fostering excellence and commemorating our nation's journey.

Ramcharan Ravi

Ramcharan Ravi of Class 9C joined the Technothlon, a critical thinking quiz competition by IIT Guwahati's student council. After acing the online prelims in July with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 3, he qualified for the main event at IIT Guwahati from September 1st to 3rd. The main event featured mathematical challenges, dexterity tests, mental aptitude puzzles, and logical reasoning contests, providing valuable insights from top student minds. It also fostered interaction with 35 high-caliber participants from across the nation, offering an exciting glimpse into IIT Guwahati's labs and classrooms. In the event's opening ceremony, Ramcharan received a Top Performer Gold Medal and Certificate for his exceptional AIR 3 rank in the prelims.

Sahana Vijaykumar from 8C

"KAMP" (Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform) is an international e-based assessment platform designed to evaluate students' cognizance of 21st-century skills, as well as their knowledge of Science, Technology, and Humanities. This initiative is led by the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), a laboratory under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology.

We proudly announce Sahana Vijaykumar from 8C as the Tamil Nadu State topper at the grade 7 level in KAMP. Her remarkable achievement earned her awards and scholarships, including Rs. 10,000, a Gold State Award, and a Certificate of State Excellence. The prestigious award ceremony took place in Delhi on September 6, 2023, where Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education & Literacy, personally presented the awards to the deserving students.

Vidhyut

Live Math Competitions and League, an innovative app-based company, offers students an international platform to showcase their Mental Math skills through both online and offline competitions worldwide. The recent Mental Math World Cup 2023, hosted by the company, engaged students from across the globe. Participants were classified into different categories based on their age, and the preliminary round challenged them to solve as many questions as possible within 7 minutes in July. Vidhyut of grade 2 C participated in the Challenger category for kids aged 6-8 and successfully advanced to the Finale in August. With over 1000 participants in the Finale of the Challenger category, the competition was fierce: solving 100 arithmetic questions, including exponents, within 8 minutes, with negative marking for incorrect answers. Vidhyut's exceptional performance earned him the prestigious titles of Country Rank 1 and International Rank 13 in the Challenger category.

Yale Young Global Scholars

The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program is a prestigious and transformative educational experience designed for exceptional high school students from around the world. Held at Yale University, this program offers an intensive two-week immersion into various academic disciplines, fostering intellectual growth, cross-cultural understanding, and leadership development. Students engage in rigorous coursework, lectures by renowned Yale faculty, and collaborate on projects that challenge their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through lively discussions, cultural exchange, and interaction with peers from different backgrounds, students develop a global perspective and lifelong connections.

Pooja Sree M K, an exceptional student of Class 12 C, was one among the 1,800 scholars chosen from a competitive pool of over 11,000 applicants. This remarkable achievement earned her a coveted spot in the Literature, Philosophy, and Culture track of this program. During her time in this immersive experience, Pooja’s understanding was enriched, and her analytical abilities were honed. Engaging with Yale Faculty, esteemed professors, as well as accomplished undergraduate and postgraduate students, provided her with a unique opportunity for academic growth. Additionally, interacting with a diverse cohort of scholars from around the globe further expanded her perspective, fostering cross-cultural connections and insights. Pooja’s participation in the Yale Young Global Scholars program exemplifies her dedication to intellectual exploration and her commitment to becoming a globally aware individual poised to make a meaningful impact.
